After carefully considering privacy and safety concerns raised by our Kemur parents, we have decided that electronic devices and cell phones are not permitted at camp.

In consultation with our Kemur parents and other camps, we have decided we can no longer permit food, gum, or candy to be brought to camp.If you have a question or would like to supply food that meets a specific dietary need please reach out to Kemur.

Mail:

Girls love to receive mail. If you wish to send a letter it is a good idea to mail it a few days prior to camp. Campers do not have access to phones or email.

You are welcome to leave mail with us at check-in to be distributed throughout the week. Max size of envelope 8.5x 11. Please do not send candy or food of any kind.

Homesickness:

Homesickness is common and natural. The good news is that the majority of campers never experience homesickness. They are too busy having fun, meeting new friends and engaging in the camp program to even think about home. Some may experience a few tears settling in but prolonged homesickness is rare. Children are more adaptable, capable and resilient than we sometimes expect, and so you may not need to spend much time preparing for it. There are lots of books and websites about homesickness and ‘kidsickness’ that you may find helpful.  If your child introduces the subject, reassure them that it is normal to miss home for a brief period, but you are confident they will be fine. Be sure to remind your camper they will not be alone; counsellors are trained to help. Reassure them that at camp there are so many things to do at camp that time will fly by and they’ll probably not want to leave!

Visitors:

A one week camp does not permit time for visitors. Thank you for understanding.

Rainy Days:

It would be nice if every day was warm and sunny, however, we are prepared for rain. Depending on the length and severity of rain we have a number of indoor activities, both large and small group that can be done during the rainy periods either in the camper’s bunkhouse, barns or tack room.

Medical Care:

Kemur is just fifteen minutes from Willet Health Centre in Paris and twenty minutes from Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Parents/Guardians are contacted in the event of an accident or injury. We do not have a nurse on staff. Staff have First Aid Training.

Money:

Your child does not require money during her stay with us.

Allergies:

Allergies and dietary concerns can be outlined on the camp medical form, you are welcome to contact Kemur to discuss any concerns.
