Kemur Equestrian Camp’s Head Lice Policy
Dear Parents,
We need your help to keep lice out of Kemur. I am sure you understand community living is an ideal place for lice to spread.
Each family must do the following.
- Check your child 2 weeks before she is to come to camp. If she is treated you must tell us when and with what product.
- Check your child 2 days before she comes to camp. If nits or lice are present, she must be treated and lice free before she is to come to camp.
Upon your child’s arrival at camp: (Sunday between 2pm-345pm)
- She will be checked by the Lice Squad Staff for nits and active lice. (Smart and quicker to have hair down and loose when you arrive!)
- If either nits or active lice are found, the camper must go home for treatment. The child can return with independent written confirmation that she is lice and nit free. The letter can accompany her return.
- If the camper is unable to go home then the camp will treat the camper and process her clothing etc through a dryer to kill any nits. Articles that cannot go through the dryer will be sprayed with a lice-killing spray. It is an expensive and time-consuming process when done correctly.
- If your camper has to be treated by us the charge will be $300.
PLEASE HELPS US BY CHECKING YOUR DAUGHTER’S HEAD PRIOR TO CAMP!
